Stanton

Here we are at the starting stone in Chipping Campden. It is tradition to take a picture of your boots at the beginning of the hike. The first stretch takes us to Stanton which they claim it is 10.5 miles, but we walked well over 11. There is a total elevation gain of 1,500 feet - 50% more climbing than a typical Mount Wachusett summit hike! We had beautiful weather with a high of 68, mostly sunny skies, and a nice breeze. Here are our pictures.

Taking a stretch break.

So many gates to open and close or occasionally step over - gotta keep those woolies safe!

I can't think of a better way to have spent our 16th anniversary.
